I really should be blaming this on my blimey bloody Odin, you know. What a snarky dork he is. Some book group this is. Ha! Yes, it was all his idea. Somehow, it was to bring things to normal, past friendships from the Uni. Only, it got weird. Since it was, after all, the two of us that showed up at the pub.
Oh, what a night. There I was sobbing in my drink, wanting limoncello and only getting vodka and juice. Ungodly sweet, you know. Work was shit. I was not going to be at the book shop much longer. It was closing.
Thank god for Kate, my life savior. She's my life partner you know, but that damn Brad was in the city, and well..forget about me. Odin and me, all on our own.
He's trying to talk about the book. Damn it if he didn't read it. He's a fast reader, you know. So Christ, if I didn't have to listen on and on about Lee Childs and his thrillers. Oh, it was enough to make my head ache. He would not shut up.
I shake my head about it now. The consequences. I can't rewind that night now. What was I thinking? Letting him go on so long. Either I threw up on him or..I guess I wasn't in the right state of mind.
Evidently, it was a fantastic liplock. We've been dating since. Yes, my boy is a right smartie and a Frenchy too. Of course, he doesn't look it. Definitely doesn't act it, but he makes a fantastic brew at two in the morning when I sleepover. I guess all is not lost. Now if I could just get Kate to be over Brad.
